Austin Country Club

About the presentation: The presentation will provide an overview of behavioral economics. In addition to learning about the different types of cognitive biases, ideas will be discussed on how to translate research findings into actionable ideas and strategies that could be used in a financial planning practice. A new model that shows the associations between financial well-being and social support, psychological traits, physical health, and religious faith will be presented.

Learning Objectives:
Understand how behavioral economics can be applied in your financial planning practice. How to help people identify practices that cause people to not engage in help seeking behavior, like fear of judgment. An exercise in loss aversion.
