FPA chapters may be stand-alone entities, but we share membership. We share operations. We share a common purpose. By also sharing our best practices, by learning from each other, by sharing our stories--we are creating a powerful network of financial planning leaders across the country. Join us in Westminster for this year's Chapter Leaders Conference. We are Stronger Together.
Note: Registration is complimentary for chapter presidents (or their designee) and chapter executives.
*This event is exclusively for current FPA chapter leaders and chapter executives, unless an invitation has been extended.

- Disrupting Your Norm
Positive change cannot occur without uncomfortable chaos. Hear from chapters that looked critically at their operations and programs and made the hard choice to change. What hard choices need to be made in your chapter?
- NKOTB (New Kids on the Board)
New to a chapter Board, or looking to train your new Board members? You're not alone! Step by step we’ll walk you through the responsibilities of being on a nonprofit board, and the basics required to establish an orientation. We’ll get new Board members hangin’ tough with more experienced volunteer leaders!
- Leading Edge
Sponsored by Prudential
What makes an effective leader? When you assume the role of President, how do you get the most out of your Board? Get an edge for your chapter with this interactive workshop as Prudential’s Mike Visconti expounds on “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” by John Maxwell.
- So You Want to be President
Whether you’re the Membership Director, NexGen Director, Director at Large, President-Elect...if you’re on a chapter Board, you’re already a leader in your profession. How do you leverage that into the ultimate chapter leader position? Or, perhaps even further, into a position on the Advisory Council Executive Committee? Or the FPA Board of Directors?? Join this session for frank discussions from successful chapter presidents and FPA Board members, and network with your other ambitious peers!
- Adding Value, Planning for Success
How do you set your goals for your chapter? How do you determine your strategic objectives and set a path for success? Good Strategic Planning starts with a review of your chapter’s purpose, then ties your future goals back to that mission. Join FPA Chief Communications Officer Ben Lewis for a workshop on how to tailor FPA’s Value Proposition to your unique chapter, and then share best practices for running a planning session and crafting your chapter’s goals.
- Volunteering with Heart

For nearly 100 years, the American Heart Association (AHA) has operated as the largest voluntary organization in the country dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. With more than 40 million supporters and volunteers, the AHA is a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives for all.
