About the Presenter: Rich Carrico, CIC, CAWC is the president of Carrico Maldegen Insurance Agency located in Northville, Michigan. He is a Certified Insurance Counselor and has been in the insurance business for over 30 years. Rich has been a speaker at several FPA, MICPA and other professional firm events. Carrico Maldegen is an independent insurance agency, whose roots go back over 90 years. Their firm specializes in asset and cash flow protection for wealth management and business clients. They assist financial planning firms by offering their complementary process, Net Worth 360, to help evaluate and protect against insurable risks their clients face.

It discusses how inflation impacts the insurance market and impacts loss trends. It reviews changes that are occurring in the marketplace relative to the P&C reinsurance market and capacity issues in coastal states. The course reviews weather trends and shows billion-dollar disasters and where they occurred in 2022. It reviews the changes in the collections markets and how boat sales are trending. It also discusses liability claim trends and the top risks high net-worth individuals face. Financial advisors can use this material to better understand the trends and impacts on their client’s insurance portfolios.

  • Participants will learn what specific trends are affecting insurance portfolios for successful families today.
  • Participants will understand how inflation and loss trends are affecting the insurance marketplace and their direct impact on clients.

About the Presenter: Wes Madara, is the Senior Vice President, Midwest Sales and Distribution leader at Chubb leading the PRS Sales and Distribution team in the Midwest, driving growth and working with distribution partners.   Wes has over 16 years of experience with Chubb PRS working with agents and brokers to craft insurance solutions for successful families and individuals.  He started his career with Chubb as an underwriter trainee in the NJ Underwriting Center before transitioning to a BDM on the S&D team in Minneapolis.  Wes then spent time in the St. Louis and Kansas City branches as the Personal Lines Manager.  In his latest role Wes led the S&D team in Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky and was the SME for Sales for the Group Personal Excess Product Line.  Wes has a B.A. in Economics from Bucknell University.
