Academic Research in the Psychology of Financial Planning

We will have three PhD candidates from Kansas State University provide synopses of their doctoral dissertations. The medley of CE sessions will be 25 minutes, each covering topics such as “Don’t Sweat the Big Stuff” (Tanya Staples MA CFP®), “Uniting Advisor Interest with Academic Research” (Donavan Sanchez MS CFP®), and “Political Affiliation, Elections, and Financial Consequences.” In March 2022, the CFP Board integrated the Psychology Planning into their testing on the CFP Exam. This session will explore various psychological aspects that affect planners and our clients. Our presenters are not merely students, rather they are CFP® practitioners and/or teaching academics. Expect an excellent learning experience.

Approx. Start Time: 11:05am

Legislative updates and tax-efficient planning strategies

Approx. Start Time: 1:15pm
