Happy New Year, fellow FPA Dallas/Fort Worth members! I am honored to step into the role of president for our chapter in 2026. Our chapter has been incredibly fortunate to have many outstanding presidents lead our organization, and I am excited to contribute to the success of our vibrant financial planning community. Our chapter continues to have the most active and thriving communities dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in financial planning and the promotion of the value associated with the CFP® designation.
Thanks to your continued dedication, the past year was one of meaningful momentum. We kicked off the year with our premier FPA DFW Conference, setting record attendance, and leading the way for an impactful year. Our reimagined chapter meetings emphasized efficiency and relevance, featuring speakers and topics curated to meet members where they are today. We continued our tradition of attending ballpark events with the Texas Rangers, facilitated networking opportunities through our highly anticipated Women in Finance - Mahjong Event and our revamped Men’s Golf Event, elevated Career Development with an unforgettable evening with Carl Richards, and maintained our ever-growing and vibrant NexGen community with happy hours and community service opportunities. Our Honors Awards dinner saw its strongest attendance, bringing together and celebrating truly remarkable leaders in our industry. We look forward to carrying this momentum forward as we continue to evolve and refine our offerings.
I am pleased to share that our membership numbers remain robust, and we maintain the title of largest chapter across the nation in the FPA organization. While that distinction is meaningful, our focus is ensuring that our members derive genuine value from their association and actively participate in our financial planning community. Your ideas and feedback play a vital role in shaping what comes next, and I encourage you to connect with me or any member of the 2026 Board as we look ahead together.
Please take some time and explore the offerings of FPA at both our local and national levels and consider contributing your talents and time by joining committees, supporting our pro-bono initiatives, or taking on leadership roles within the FPA Dallas/Fort Worth Board. My FPA journey began at the local committee level and my career would not be where it is today without the impact this local expression of the FPA has had on it. I have gained life-long friends through this organization and my experience with FPA has been nothing short of rewarding, both professionally and personally—I am confident it will be for you as well.
I extend my sincere thanks to our Corporate Partners for their continued support, which allows us to deliver the same high-quality programs and events year after year. The many events that we host throughout the year would not be possible without their contributions and support. As our members, I encourage each of you to consider our Corporate Partners as a valuable resource and partner in your planning practice.
Finally, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our invaluable Executive Director, Melisa Hall, the FPA DFW Board of Directors, and the many volunteers who generously contribute their time and energy. Your commitment is what sustains our chapter’s reputation for excellence.
I’m looking forward to hearing about the successes and growth that 2026 has in store for each of you!
With kind regards,
Greg Lanier, CFP®, RLP®
