Happy New Year fellow FPA Dallas/Fort Worth members! I am excited to serve as president of our chapter this year and also looking forward to all that we have planned. Our chapter is truly blessed with such an active financial planning community that continues to thrive in the pursuit of our mission of fostering excellence in the practice of financial planning and to promote the value of the CFP® designation.
Following the Covid pandemic that impacted 2020 and 2021, this past year felt like we were getting back to “normal.” We started the year with one of our best FPA DFW Conferences held in person once again. Following that we had two sold out ballpark events, well attended and educational chapter meetings, networking events though our Allied Professionals and continued growth and engagement in our NexGen community. We ended the year by once again hosting our Honors Awards dinner for the first time in a several years to honor those in our community who do so much for our profession. In the coming year we will continue to build on these successes and develop new programs and opportunities for our members.
Our membership continues to grow, and we are now the largest chapter in the FPA. What is more important than the membership total though, is making sure our members feel value for their membership and are able to engage in our financial planning community. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with everything available to you at both the local and national level. Engagement is also encouraged in the form of dedicating your talent and time by serving on one of our many committees, supporting our pro-bono efforts or serving in a leadership role on our FPA Dallas/Fort Worth Board. If you have ideas for us to consider, or areas of interest that you would like to get involved in, we want to hear from you. Please contact me or any of our 2023 FPA DFW Board to discuss them.
To our many Corporate Partners, please accept my sincerest appreciation for your partnership that enables us to continue putting on such high-quality programs and events. When evaluating vendors and partners for your business, I encourage all of our members to please take the time to at least consider our many Corporate Partners in your decision-making process when appropriate.
Finally, I want to also say thank you to our amazing Executive Director, Melisa Hall, the FPA DFW Board of Directors and all of the members who continue to dedicate their time and energy to make our chapter what it is.
Cheers to a healthy, happy and prosperous 2023!
