The COVID pandemic that began in March 2020 ushered in "The Great Resignation" for Baby Boomers. Or did it? Did Baby Boomers really leave the workforce because COVID upended the job markets? Millions of Baby Boomers did leave the work force. But millions also needed to work. And for more than a decade, Boomers have been staunchly reporting how they are going to keep working in retirement, even when they can afford to stop working. Boomers are rejecting the old-fashioned notion of "retirement". There is much going on with the renegade Boomer generation. We'll take a look at some of the macro trends, the micro trends, and the latest information about how Boomers are looking forward to living in their 70s, 80s, and 90s. We'll look at the role of the employer, generational differences, and financial stability in the face of economic uncertainty. Plus, advisors will leave with tips for how they can seize this moment to help their Boomer clients take full advantage of all this third chapter has to offer.

One thing we all know about retirement planning is that it's full of guesses - about market performance, clients' health, and unforeseen expenses.  So, when advisors recommend a total return strategy for lifetime income, they are rolling the dice that they can make the money last.  Is that a risk your clients want to take?  In this session we'll discuss ways to enhance retirement portfolios to add income certainty for clients who may be uncomfortable depending on market returns.  We'll model portfolios to explore how annuities can be used to deliver protected income while allowing for customized levels of market exposure.
