Spring 2023 FPA Residency Program Dean
Dave Yeske, CFP®, DBA, holds a doctorate in finance from Golden Gate University, as well as an MA in Economics and a BS in applied economics from the University of San Francisco. He has been practicing financial planning since 1990. Yeske is a past chair of the Financial Planning Association and is the current practitioner editor of the Journal of Financial Planning. He previously chaired the FPA PAC, Research Center Team, and Academic Advisory Council. He is also a long-time mentor and now dean in the FPA Residency Program. Yeske received the FPA Heart of Financial Planning award in 2012. He holds an appointment as a distinguished adjunct professor in Golden Gate University's Ageno School of Business, where he has taught for over 20 years and is director of the University's financial planning program, home of the first-ever MS in Financial Planning degree since 1980.
Mentors
Mychal Eagleson, CFP®, AIF®, ChSNC® earned a B.S. in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2012, and a certificate in Financial Planning from the New York University in 2013. Prior to working at Teach Plan Retire, he provided financial planning and investment management to clients throughout the Midwest for two Fortune 500 companies and a dedicated Private Client Group. He is currently the President of the FPA of Greater Indiana, a member of the OneFPA Advisory Executive Committee, and was named one of Indy's Most Pivotal Leaders from the Class of 2022.
Sabrina Lowell, CFP® was part of the inaugural Investment News 40 under 40 list in 2014 and is a recipient of the FPA Heart of Financial Planning Award. She chaired the FPA Annual Conference (2013). She chaired the FPA NorCal Conference (2010, 2011), served on the Consumer Advisory Group and the Professional Development Advisory Group task forces. Lowell has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal’s Smart Money Magazine, The Wall Street Journal’s Voices, CNNMoney.com, CFAInstitute.com, Talking Money with Jean Chatzky, Dow Jones News Wire, Money Magazine, Financial Planning Magazine, Investment News, AdvisorMax.com, Today’s Advisor, Investment Advisor and the Journal of Financial Planning. She received her BA from Principia College and holds a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from the UC Berkeley Personal Financial Planning Program.
Nick Nicolette, CFP® is a Founder and Principal of Sterling Financial Planning, Inc. Nick served as the 2007 President and 2008 Chairman of the National Board of FPA. Prior to his election to the national board, he was Chairman and President of the FPA New Jersey chapter. Nick was honored in 2011 by both the National FPA and FPA-New Jersey with the Heart of Financial Planning Award. The Heart of Financial Planning Award recognizes individual professionals, financial planning firms, FPA chapters, or organizations who engage in extraordinary work, contributing and giving back to the financial planning community and public through financial planning. Recipients embody the spirit of financial planning and also represent the FPA's Core Values: Competence, Integrity, Relationships and Stewardship.
Lauren Stansell, CFP® earned an honors B.S. in Economics, summa cum laude, from Virginia Tech in May 2012. She earned her second honors bachelor’s degree in Finance, summa cum laude, from Virginia Tech’s CFP® Certification Education Track, a CFP Board-Registered program, in December 2012. Lauren passed the CFP® exam in July 2014 and became a CFP® professional in February 2015. Lauren earned her Master’s in Advanced Financial Planning with a concentration in Taxation through Golden Gate University in 2019. Lauren co-founded the FPA Student Chapter at Virginia Tech and was the first president of the organization. In the first year of its existence, the chapter grew to over 70 students, making it the largest student chapter in the country. Lauren enjoys engaging with the next generation of financial planners; she served as the Co-Director of NexGen for the FPA of the National Capital Area. Lauren served as the 2021 President and 2022 Chair of the FPA of San Francisco.
