FPA Puget Sound Pro Bono Volunteer Day at JA Finance Park

Junior Achievement of Washington

We are thrilled to announce a unique volunteer opportunity in collaboration with Junior Achievement (JA), a national non-profit dedicated to preparing students for their future economic success. JA Finance Park is Junior Achievement's flagship financial literacy capstone program for students (grades 7-12) combining classroom curriculum with a realistic simulation. Students are assigned a hypothetical persona (salary, debt, family) and must develop a balanced personal budget, covering expenses like housing, food, and insurance.

During this special event, volunteers from our chapter will dedicate their day to mentoring students by providing insights into budgeting and life decisions through a hands on, tablet-based personal finance simulation.

JA Finance Park introduces students to personal financial planning and career exploration. After completing a month-long, teacher-led program, students visit JA Finance Park, a realistic virtual community, to put their new skills into practice. We will be volunteering to support students from Key Peninsula Middle School as they work through this hands-on financial education experience.

Lunch will be provided.
