CE CREDITS: This event has been approved for two CFP® CE credits and two CPA credits. You will be asked to sign in when you arrive in order to be eligible for credit. FPA of Puget Sound will report all credits to the CFP® Board following the event. Your credit can then be confirmed in the CFP Portal within 7 business days following the event. If you require CPA CE we will provide you with a CE Certificate of Attendance to self-file.

2023 Rate & Housing Forecast

Overview:

Jeff McGinnis will cover interest rate and real estate economic indicators. Specifically, how Fed activities have affected inflation, where we see inflation heading, and estimations on when mortgage interest rates will shift, and why. Additionally, he will be covering the lagging affects of inflation and shelter costs. He will cover traditional spreads between the treasury markets and mortgage rates, why that spread has changed, and when that spread may go back to historical norms. He will cover recessionary indicators such as inverted yield curves and other potential bellwethers. With regard to real estate, he will cover affordability supply and demand, and how wage changes have affected affordability.

Washington Capital Gains Tax Update

Financial advisors most certainly need to factor the Washington State capital gains tax into their projections for their clients financial plans. This presentation will address the status of the Washington State capital gains tax and how it should be handled by the April 17th filing deadline. Randy will also provide his perspective on how the Washington Supreme Court might rule on the tax.  

Speaker Bio:

Randy M. Multack is a Certified Public Accountant who has been in business for over 25 years, specializing in accounting and tax matters of individuals and small businesses - partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies. Randy is from Chicago, IL and is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. He began his career with one of the large international accounting firms before spending several years in private industry. He returned to public accounting in 1978 and was first licensed to practice in California in 1979. He worked with several firms in Southern California before starting his own firm in 1986. He is licensed to practice in both Washington and California and is a member of the Washington Society of CPA's, as well as being a member of the Taxation Committee of the society. He is also a past chairman of the San Fernando Valley group of the California Society of CPA's. Randy strives to create long-term relationships and works hard to make certain the relationships stay strong, through the quality of work and in his way of personally interacting with this clients.
