Chapter Meeting Topic & Speaker

Flourishing in the Age of Longevity

Jonathan Ainsley, Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, Founder InvestinU, LLC

"Flourishing in the Age of Longevity" will challenge financial planners to rethink the assumptions that underpin traditional retirement planning in a world where clients are living longer, healthier, and more complex lives. The session reframes longevity not as a risk to be mitigated, but as a multi-decade opportunity that fundamentally changes how financial professionals approach discovery, suitability, time horizon, and client decision-making. Attendees will explore why conventional age-based planning models increasingly fall short.

The session introduces a practical, advisor ready framework for "Longevity Planning" that integrates mindset, health, purpose, community, and financial fitness into the fiduciary conversation, without turning advisors into therapists or clinicians. Using real-world advisor insights and applied examples, the discussion will highlight how deeper human context improves planning outcomes, strengthens client trust, and supports better long-term decisions, for clients of all ages.

Finally, the session will examine what this shift means for financial planners and firms right now: meeting evolving client expectations, regulatory and duty-of-care implications, and the opportunity to differentiate in an increasingly commoditized advice landscape. Financial Planners will leave with a clearer lens for engaging clients around longevity, a sharper discovery mindset, and a practical understanding of how helping clients flourish across longer lives can drive better outcomes - for clients and practices alike.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Differentiate retirement planning from longevity planning and explain why traditional age based and decumulation centric models are increasingly misaligned with longer, more dynamic client lives.
2. Identify the key human and behavioral dimensions of longevity—including mindset, health, purpose, and community—and understand how these factors materially influence financial decision-making and planning outcomes.
3. Recognize how deeper client context improves trust, engagement, and retention, particularly for clients navigating multi-decade futures, transitions, and reinvention beyond traditional retirement ages.

Meet the Speaker

Jonathan Ainsley is Founder and CEO of InvestInU, a leading platform to support individuals living to their full potential.

Recognized as a thought leader in the area of “flourishing" longevity, Jonathan was the Keynote Speaker for the Florida Council on Aging’s 2024 Annual Conference. Most recently, Jonathan was invited to join the Advisory Council to the Stanford Center on Longevity. Jonathan has developed training for Financial Professionals to provide a fresh perspective on longevity planning, allowing both the professional and their clients to benefit from the inspiration and energy this fresh perspective creates. With many now living far longer than they expected, the training uniquely includes facilitating advisory workshops for the financial professionals and their clients where participants begin to reframe and redefine what it means to successfully and to think about themselves and their futures in ways they might have before, shifting mindsets from ones of fear and frailty to ones of discovering a whole new world of opportunities they never thought possible.

Jonathan started in Financial Services in London in 1986 as a Bond Broker, moved to Orlando FL in 1999 and has been a resident in Central Florida ever since. Following time at SunTrust, in 2006, he joined Schwab Institutional as a Relationship Manager developing his passion for bringing simple but powerful solutions to those in his care and in 2012 joined Merrill Lynch’s Practice Management Consulting Group. During this time, the seeds for thought leadership and providing training for Longevity Advising were sewn. In addition, Jonathan became an accredited financial services coach through Clientwise and also became a Gallup Certified StrengthsFinder Coach
