Venk Reddy - Osterweis Capital Management

Investors everywhere are asking the question: When will the economic cycle turn? But what if that’s the wrong question to ask? Observations about past periods of inflation as well as structural and demographic changes affecting the investing landscape may be hinting more at a long-term paradigm shift than at a short-term cycle. If that turns out to be the case, investors may be facing a prolonged period of persistent headwinds which will require a change in mindset from a dependence on price appreciation to a focus on income. During the presentation, Venk Reddy, Chief Investment Officer—Sustainable Credit at Osterweis Capital Management, will provide a data-driven picture of consumer prices, labor markets, and the last 40 years of capital market innovation which investors should consider when planning their portfolios for the next decade and beyond.

Learning objectives:
  • Fixed income investing: delivering returns and achieving outcomes.
  • Types of fixed income and how to invest.
  • Consumer prices and labor markets.
  • Capital market innovations investors should consider when planning portfolios.
