CFP® Board Mission: The mission of Certified Financial Planner® Board of Standards, Inc. is to benefit the public by granting the CFP® certification and upholding it as the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning.
FPA believes that everyone who holds themselves out as a financial planner should pass the CFP® exam and be a CFP® certificant. FPA works to serve the public by identifying ways consumers can find a competent, ethical financial planner. The CFP® mark represents the standard of education and ethics consumers should be able to expect from a financial planner. CFP® practitioners develop theoretical and practical financial planning knowledge by completing a comprehensive course of study at a college or university offering a financial planning curriculum registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards®, Inc.
