FPA of Miami is recognized as the 2025 winner of the Power of Financial Planning Award.
DENVER (July 30, 2025) – The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) and the Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP) are pleased to announce the FPA of Miami as the recipient of the 2025 Power of Financial Planning Award. The award is in recognition of their commitment to delivering pro bono financial planning in the spirit of FPA’s Primary Aim: To elevate the profession that transforms lives through the power of financial planning.
In its seventh year, the Power of Financial Planning Award recognizes an FPA chapter and its members’ efforts over the previous 12 months to provide quality pro bono financial planning and advice to underserved populations.
“For many years, FPA chapters and members have proactively engaged underserved communities across the country to provide pro bono financial planning services and education. They recognize that these services can have a profound impact, potentially transforming lives and establishing a foundation for lasting financial stability,” says 2025 FPA President Paul Brahim, CFP®, CEPA®. “FPA of Miami is a shining example of the power of financial planning, and we are honored to recognize their remarkable efforts at FPA Annual Conference 2025 in Las Vegas from November 3-5.”
FPA of Miami is being recognized with the 2025 Power of Financial Planning Award to celebrate its efforts to positively impact many throughout the Miami metropolitan area. With 5% of the chapter’s members participating in community outreach programs, including one-on-one pro bono financial planning, financial wellness workshops, local partnerships, and financial education, FPA of Miami’s impact was significant.
The chapter partnered with the Miami-Dade Public Library to offer quarterly financial education workshops, each consisting of four classes on rotating topics. These workshops consistently attracted an average of 30 or more attendees. In addition to group education, they provided one-on-one, pro bono financial planning sessions for those who needed personalized guidance. The chapter also collaborated with Junior Achievement, delivering financial education to children and young adults, and hosts the Financial Challenge Workshop, which helps students develop real-world money management skills.
The FPA Awards Committee recommended, and the FPA Board of Directors approved, FPA of Miami as the recipient of the 2025 Power of Financial Planning Award.
“The FPA of Miami demonstrates the powerful difference that financial planners can make in their communities,” said Jon Dauphiné, CEO of the Foundation for Financial Planning. “The dedicated efforts of this chapter and their members reflect the heart of FFP’s mission—and we hope they inspire others across the country to follow their lead.”
FPA of Miami will be recognized at a special Honors Reception at FPA Annual Conference 2025 in Las Vegas, from Nov. 3-5, 2025.
