Three FPA members also selected to serve three-year terms on the FPA Board of Directors 

DENVER (September 30, 2020) – The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) announced today that the Board of Directors elected Dennis J. Moore, MBA, CFP® as the 2021 FPA President-elect for a one-year term. Moore’s term will begin on Jan. 1, 2021, succeeding incoming 2021 FPA President Skip Schweiss, AIF®.  

Moore is the Chief Operating Officer for Dallas-based Quest Capital Management, where he leads the firm’s operations and works closely with the wealth advisers to set the strategic direction of the firm. In addition to operations, he manages personnel, technology, and financial initiatives that support the firm’s clients and growth.

He will undoubtably drive the future success of FPA and the profession in this new role,” says 2020 FPA President Martin C. An active member of FPA since 2002, Moore has served in various local and national leadership roles for the association, including on the FPA of Dallas/Ft. Worth Board of Directors, the OneFPA Advisory Task Force, the FPA Alliance Forum, and as chair for the FPA Pro Bono Committee. Moore also served as chair of the Mentor Committee for the Texas Tech University Personal Financial Planning Alumni Advisory Board to help young financial planning professionals advance in their careers. 

Currently completing a three-year term on the FPA Board of Directors, Moore earned a Bachelor of Science degree in personal financial planning and a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University.

FPA is also pleased to announce the election of three new members to its Board of Directors. Based on the recommendation of the OneFPA Nominating Committee, a committee composed of equal representation from FPA chapter leaders and Board designees, the new board members will serve a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2021. Newly-elected board members will apply their diverse backgrounds and experience to help guide FPA’s Primary Aim and Business Mission while working to advance the recognition of the financial planning profession. The new board members are:

  • George A. Fernández, MBA, CFP®—Vice President of Practice Management at Mariner Wealth Advisors in Overland Park, Kan.
  • Lisa A. K. Kirchenbauer, CFP®, RLP®, CeFT®—President, Chief Compliance Officer, and Senior Advisor at Omega Wealth Management, LLC in Arlington, Va.
  • Paul J. Brahim, CFP®, AIFA®Managing Director and Senior Vice President at Wealth Enhancement Group in Pittsburgh, Penn. 

“As the financial planning landscape continues to evolve, I’m pleased to welcome these forward-thinking stewards of our profession to the FPA Board of Directors. George, Lisa, and Paul are dedicated to elevating the profession, and their unique skill sets and experience will be an asset to our Board, FPA, and the profession,” added Seay.  

The FPA Board of Directors sets the vision and strategic direction for the association. The 2021 Board will comprise 14 total members, including the three newly elected members and FPA’s Chief Executive Officer.
