Maria Castillo Dominguez, CFP®, CDFA, currently serves on the board of directors for the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), the leading membership organization and trade association for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals and those who support the financial planning process.
Castillo Dominguez has more than a decade of experience in the financial planning profession. The firm she founded, Valoria Wealth Management, is a fee-only registered investment advisor serving high-earning women in the tech industry. Castillo Dominguez specializes in guiding women through the complexities of equity compensation, tax-efficient wealth building, and the career and life transitions that shape their financial futures. She has a deep expertise in restricted stock units (RSUs), Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPPs), stock options, deferred compensation, and long-term investing strategies.
Her work is grounded in the belief that women deserve advice that feels empowering, understandable, and aligned with their goals. Through Castillo Dominguez’s intentional, education-focused approach, she helps clients transform complexity into confidence and make decisions that support both their wealth and well-being. Castillo Dominguez’s mission is to help women feel clear, supported, and in control of their wealth, and to elevate the financial planning profession through service, education, and heart-centered leadership.
This work extends into thought leadership, community building, and podcasting, including co-hosting “Tell Us About It: Your Money Story with Maria and Jodi,” a platform where women share the experiences that shape their financial lives. Castillo Dominguez’s work and insights have been featured in national and local outlets, including CNBC, CBS, and CNN.
Castillo Dominguez has been an active leader within FPA for many years. She previously served with the FPA of Orange County in volunteer roles, including pro bono initiatives, and then on the FPA of Miami Board of Directors.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in finance from Universidad de Sevilla. She is passionate about elevating the next generation of planners, expanding access to fiduciary advice, and helping build a profession that is more inclusive, diverse, and representative of the communities it serves.
