Who can I refer?

Your employees, your students, your mentor, your friends who are considering changing careers—even your mom.

Ask yourself:

  • Are they a financial planner? Refer them!
  • Do they work in or near the financial planning profession? Refer them!
  • Would they benefit from attending an FPA webinar? Refer them!
  • Would you enjoy grabbing a coffee with them at your next chapter meeting? Refer them! If they’d find value in FPA, we’d love to meet them.
How do I know if they join?

FPA will send you a thank-you email once your referral becomes a member.

How much do I get in rewards?

You'll receive a discount on your next membership renewal:

  • $25 for each CFP® professional or Allied professional you refer
  • $10 for each Academic or Aspiring financial planner you refer

Example: Bill refers four people—Joe and Sally (CFP® professionals), and Jim and Sue (aspiring financial planners). All four join. Bill receives a $70 discount code toward his next renewal. Thanks, Bill!

How do I receive my discount?

When it’s time to renew your membership, FPA will email you a personalized discount code based on your successful referrals.

Is there a limit to how many referrals I can make?

Nope! Refer away. Just note that your total discount cannot exceed your membership dues. But don't let that stop you from building your community and spreading the word.
