Happy New Year, FPA of Houston!
As we begin this new year together, I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as your President and give back to an organization that has played such an important role in my professional journey.
At its core, FPA Houston exists to help us better serve our clients through education and practice support, while also strengthening advocacy for our profession. Also importantly, it provides a community where meaningful connections are formed. Many of us have benefited from the mentorship, friendship, and career development opportunities this chapter offers, and we are committed to extending a welcoming experience to our members.
Over the past year, our chapter hosted more than 20 well-attended events, delivered strong educational programming, and created meaningful opportunities for members to connect. These efforts strengthened our community and reinforced FPA Houston’s role as a valuable resource for financial planners at every stage of their careers. As we move forward, we remain focused on building upon this foundation and continuing to deliver programs that support our members. We are excited about what lies ahead for our chapter.
Programming Highlights for 2026:
- Chapter Meetings - Our chapter meetings focus on educational content across a diverse range of topics, aiming to address the issues that matter most to members. We are also exploring new approaches to keep our meetings engaging and welcome feedback.
- Symposium - This flagship conference is a cornerstone of our chapter’s educational mission and a highlight of the year for our members. We plan to build upon last year’s strong attendance and outstanding speaker lineup to make it our best one yet.
- Networking Opportunities - We aim to deepen connections among our membership and also with allied professional organizations to provide more opportunities to build meaningful relationships across the broader financial services community.
- Special Initiatives - Our NexGen and Women’s Group communities provide a range of educational and social programs tailored to their interests. We are engaged in outreach to local CFP Board registered educational programs to support future financial planners. Our Pro Bono programs connect members with local nonprofits and the Foundation for Financial Planning to provide financial guidance to those in need.
FPA Houston thrives because members volunteer to contribute their time, skills, and ideas. We are thankful to our dedicated Board and committee members who help make all of what we do possible. I also believe serving is a great way to build relationships and grow professionally within our community. I encourage anyone interested in getting involved to please reach out.
