The FPA of Michigan Pro Bono Committee has several opportunities in the works!
- Financial Literacy through Junior Achievement: We are planning to begin offering financial literacy presentations to local high schools through Junior Achievement. While we don't have any specific opportunities at this time, we will be offering training through Junior Achievement virtually on Monday, May 2nd from Noon to 1:00 pm so we are prepared when opportunities come up. If you are interested in completing the Junior Achievement Training on May 2nd so you can participate in future financial literacy opportunities, email Mary Medonis at firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know you plan to participate on May 2nd. Once you register with Mary, she will send you instructions on how to participate in the training. Can't attend on May 2nd, we are hoping to offer virtual training again later this summer!
- Pro Bono Volunteers needed for one-on-one meetings with Legislative Staffers: As a lead in to the FPA of Michigan Advocacy Day (which will be held on Wednesday, May 25th), the FPA of Michigan Pro Bono Committee will be hosting a pro bono event for legislative staffers. During this event, legislative staffers will hear a presentation on a broad overview of a variety of money topics, including budgeting, expense, debt, saving and retirement among other things. At the end of the presentation, staffers will be given the opportunity to sign up for one-on-one virtual meetings with FPA of Michigan volunteers. We are looking for FPA of Michigan members to volunteer to meet with staffers for these one-on-one appointments.
