This presentation will equip financial advisors to better serve clients navigating divorce. This presentation begins with an overview of the primary divorce process options in Washington and how each may affect a client’s experience and financial outcomes. Advisors will learn how to clarify their professional role, manage potential conflicts of interest, and remain neutral when emotions run high or when both spouses are clients. This session explores key financial and tax implications of property division and support arrangements. The presentation includes a discussion of prenuptial postnuptial agreements and how they may fit into broader financial planning. Finally, participants will leave with Washington-specific resources and tools to guide divorcing clients.
