The digital asset landscape has matured beyond early speculation, establishing itself as a legitimate and rapidly evolving component of modern investment management. Crypto Foundations: The Case for Crypto – A Focus on Advised Portfolios is designed to equip financial professionals with the foundational knowledge and analytical framework needed to understand and confidently discuss cryptoassets with clients. This session demystifies the technology and investment rationale behind Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other leading digital assets, connecting them to traditional investment theory and portfolio construction principles. Attendees will gain insight into what differentiates blockchain-based assets from conventional investments, examining their underlying utility, risk drivers, and potential roles in diversified portfolios.

The session will present an evidence-based exploration of crypto’s historical performance, correlations, and market structure, with practical emphasis on due diligence and regulatory considerations. Participants will learn how institutional adoption and evolving ETF structures have transformed cryptoasset accessibility for both retail and high-net-worth clients. Real-world case studies will help bridge theory and implementation, showing how advisors can align crypto exposure with client goals, risk tolerance, and time horizons. By grounding these insights in modern portfolio management frameworks, this presentation enables CFP holders to translate curiosity about digital assets into informed guidance.
